This 5-day retreat offers an opportunity for rest, reflection and renewal at the year’s end after the busyness of Christmas. The retreat will provide a safe, supportive and nourishing environment, with space to form a deeper connection with yourself, with others and with the natural world. It is open to people of all levels of Focusing experience.
There will time each day for:
  • 1-1 Focusing sessions
  • Input and discussion on Focusing practice
  • Silent group walks
  • Group meditation
  • Early morning yoga or qigong
  • Group sharing
  • Free time for resting, walking, etc.

Delicious vegetarian meals cooked by our excellent chef
The retreat will be held partly in silence, but there will also be opportunity to interact socially with the group. Other activities such as Wye Valley walks, dance/movement, massage, poetry sharing, etc, may arise on the retreat. We will also celebrate the turning of the year. The retreat schedule is offered as a framework and support, but there is no obligation or pressure to attend every session and participants are encouraged to attune to and respect their own individual process and needs, which can include spending time alone.
The Facilitators
Peter Gill and Gordon Adam are both experienced Focusing teachers and retreat facilitators with 35 years of Focusing experience between them.
Peter has spent the last 5 years exploring nature connection and its relationship with Focusing. He is a BFA mentor and Focusing Institute Coordinator, and is also a trained SE (Somatic Experiencing) Practitioner.
Gordon has been running residential Focusing retreats in Devon and the Southwest for the last 12 years, and has a background in Buddhist practice and Interactive Inquiry. His particular interest is in developing Focusing community, locally and internationally and he has been editor (or co-editor) of the BFA newsletter for the last 6 years
The Venue
